Advanced Log Monitor

There are many reasons to be concerned when you need to step out and leave your computer running. Anything can happen and if you are not there to take care of problems that may occur, your system can be seriously damaged. In situations like this, all you need to do is install Advanced Log Monitor and set up a series of automatic monitoring tasks. The software will notify you of certain events, by sending you an email or a message on your mobile device.

To install the software, you will need to download a 1.27 Mb setup file and run it. The installation process is straightforward and you will be guided all the way with clear instructions. The software can run in the system tray and it will not affect your computer's performance.

As mentioned before, Advanced Log Monitor's functionality is based on creating and scheduling automatic tasks. They are listed on the software's interface, along with various details, like paths, file masks, keywords and more. New tasks are created on a separate window, where you need to specify the location of logs by selecting a folder, typing a file mask and keywords. Options for setting up a schedule can be found on the same window. Depending on your schedule, the software will execute a task every few hours, days or weeks or on specific days of the week, at a certain hour.

When a task is executed, the program will check the logs that are contained in the monitored folders. If it detects a certain event, like warnings, hardware failure and so on, Advanced Log Monitor will notify you by email. You can specify a sender and receiver, as well as a SMTP server, username and password on the software's main options menu. It can send either a short message or a detailed one and you can choose which one to send, on the same window.

Advanced Log Monitor can read any text string from syslogs, .log, .csv and other file formats. It is capable of monitoring logs, created by any software, database or device. You may configure it to send short notifications on mobile phones or pagers as well.
